Program description

Bantay Normalization is a program highlighting the grassroots communities and CSO’s role in peacebuilding and especially in sustaining the gains of peace in the Bangsamoro region after the signing of the GPH-MILF Peace Agreement. The normalization — disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration — of former combatants in the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is a critical component of the peace process in the southern Philippines. With the Bangsamoro government currently on its extended transition period, the Bantay Normalization program contributes to safeguarding the development in the region by enhancing the grassroots communities and CSOs’ capacity to complement the efforts of the Bangsamoro government in fulfilling the agreements under the normalization track. MPC facilitates various activities designed to upscale the capacities of grassroots organizations and CSOs to become more efficient in delivering services and in their advocacies and adaptable to the needs of the Bangsamoro people and former combatants as we move toward sustainable development.
